Yeah I think you need a special washer for it. I have seen them for sale on line before............ Oh yeah I think it was at Manchester Honda I could be wrong though, but I know i saw them somewhere.
you can get the washer at H and A Accessories
He's stationed in Spain. I'm not sure if these companies will deliver overseas.
You bought a 7th gen Civic over in Spain? How far away is your dealer? Cuz they would have them for sure.

Thanks all I will have to search the web pages you link to. As far as where I bought it. I bought it in Ocala Florida before I left to come over and then had the navy ship it to me.

Wow I never seen anything like that.. Question by the look of it you keep one part in at all time and when you want to give your car an oil change you just hook up the aplicator and hose. Is that how it works? Like I said I never seen anything like that, either that just stupid..

Yes, exactly how that works. It's easier than unscrewing that drain bolt and then burning your fingers with the hot oil and/or losing that drain bolt in the oil collector. I installed it on my sister's 2001 LX and it fits perfectly. It comes with a copper washer for a better seal as well. Brass assures no corrosion. You simply warm up your engine, put the bucket under the car, place the hose opening in the bucket, and tighten down the hose attachment. It makes a hole big enough for the oil to go through. I haven't used it yet though. I just installed it. I'll write up a review when I do use it. That will be in like 1,500 miles...
Civic Bros....I have my new 2002 Civic coming up on the oil change...I bought 4 qts of 5w-20, a filter, oil filter wrench, = $14.00 .
Now, usually I can get the filter and oil for $10.00.
I can go to Honda and get it done for $20.00.
My car is so low to the ground and with my old crx I would just get under it, or pull it up on some curbing or upper area and do it. Now, my civic is just too low in the front, I can barely get under it! And, I have no ramps! What I am saying is I like working on it, but i think I am just going to let Honda do it! the car only needs oil changes every 5,000 miles also. I might get killed if I try to do it this time. What in the H*ll do slammed civic and all those other cats do that have their civics slammed down 4"!!!!?? Let me know what ya'll think...........

Thanks a lot for the info Grey. I asked fram about this and they esaid they didn't have a model number to give me cause they were still testing the product on import cars. I posted a question here about it and got nothing related to that, but was suggested to get the spoons magnetic bolt, which is completly different. Now I have to go back out and pick this thing up. Thanks for the info. I hope it fits on my 2002 LX as good as it fits on your sister's 2001 LX

Haha! Even FRAM doesn't know which size sits the 7th gen civic! I noticed that too, their website doesn't have the size for our application. It is SD-2. I'm 100% sure of that. Just buy the thing (like $15) and compare the thread with the drain bolt thread. You'll see that they're exactly the same. Well, minus the fact that the FRAM bolt has less threading on it. Not a problem if you look closely at it though. You'll see that the stock drain bolt only uses as much thread as the FRAM bolt does.

Where did you find a place to buy 5w-20? I've been looking for Mobil 1 and would even settle for "Dino Oil" with no luck.

even if your car is really low change it yourself, just buy a jack and some stands. they don't like to spend alot of time at the dealer changing oil and might not be too careful about scrapping your car.

Hey man, I found 5w-20 at Advance Auto Parts (all over the east coast).
They even have several brands of it...I just got the valvoline oil..they have castrol, mobil, etc. We should definately use 5-20 in our new vics!
I still don't know if I will do it myself...$10.00 difference almost not worth it! But, like the last guy said, I don't want my car messed up!
I went into Honda today , and they were cool, let me into the service bay, I looked underneath a civic up on lifts with them and saw the filter
and I saw the oil they put in our cars...Honda brand 5w-20..there were cases and cases of it.....so................Hendrick Honda in Charleston, Sc seems pretty cool......They were cool to me...I told them I wanted to do it...but they were cool.....
