Trading in for RSX-S
I have a 2k1 silver civc EX. tinted windows, cleared headlights, custom shaved emblems. I just started a new job and making more money now. So, I'm thinking about trading it in for a RSX-S. My question is should i trade it in and finance the rest or should i privately sell it and get the RSX-S. and how much should i be looking at for a trade in. Thanks in advance for any input.
Type S are very nice, but cost a lot more than our cars both monthly and insurance rates.
Also if you're willing to spend that much money, why not test drive a WRX-0-60 in 5.8 seconds for 24k is a lot faster than the type s, even though its looks arnt as appealing....just my opinion

you should try selling your civic privately first and get as much possible. cause with the dealer, you're probably gonna be in the hole at least $3000.. unless u don't want the hassle, then just let the dealer take care of everything.. and worry later
Yeah there has been a lot of these trading for the RSX-S once the new Accord V6 6 speed Manual comes out I bet we will be seeing those too. But yeah if you have the cash and like them I say go for it.

yea my friend's dad is a manager at a acura dealership here, so hes gonna get me a good deal. i dont know if he can do anything about getting a good deal on the trade in.
the thing that is tough is getting a good trade in value, but if you dont mind staying at the dealer all day, and even wallk out, they'll end up calling and dealin with ya-they want the sale.
I know hate buying through any kind of car dealers they are my most hated people in the world. Heard if you buy through costco too on some vehicles you can get really good deals. Will look forward to trading this car off in 2 yrs but going throught the dealer I will dred that day.

Yeah the new accord v6 manual definately has my eye on it, even though people are like no don't go to the dark side in 2 years most of the bugs should be worked out of the new accord hopefully.

I feel ya man......I traded mine in for a 2001 Prelude. But to be honest, and this is only my opinion....but you should hold onto your Civic and wait and see what comes out here soon, because the RSX Type S isn't that fast at all and they are pretty ugly if you ask me and it's a hatchback (puke), and the interior looks cheap as hell.....!! The WRX is a sweet ride, but too bad it's the ugliest car on the road and it's a Sedan. But I test drove the RSX Type S and the WRX and I ended up getting the Prelude. But I am anxious to see what sports car Honda offers next !!
Dude, if you're going for a new car always always always trade in your car. BECAUSE the dealer wants to sell a NEW car to YOU, you will have the upperhand in getting a higher trade-in value. Also you pay the tax on the DIFFERENCE not the entire retail value of the new car. If you're not happy with a trade-in value, then go to another dealer. And then haggle and say the other dealer gave me this much, how much can you offer and keep doing that. You WILL get a good offer eventually - especially at 4:59 PM on a Friday afternoon on the 31st of the month. Remember, dealers have to make a quota or would like to meet it by months end and the pressure is on!

Never believe a dealer when they say straight out, that's the best price in the world. Did you know you don't even have to pay for PDI/freight? You can even bargain that off cuz that's near $1000.. well Canadian dollars that is. But you know what i mean. Always go around and ask the exact same questions and see what price you'll get. THEN you know what you're looking at. And then use those quoted prices to bargain at another dealer. Then they know you're not a stupid car buyer. And don't be afraid to just say, fine, i'll go find business elsewhere.
