More Turbo info - Please don't flame!!
I went to a car show this weekend in OCean City, MD. There i met a guy that worked for Dynamic Motorsports in Dillsburg, PA. The specialize in custom turbos and nitrous. HE told me that if most other people say it can't be done, they will do it. Right now they have two civics, a 2k1 and 2k2 to see if there are differences, though they haven't found any in the engine. He told me that they will be finishing up the turbo for the 7thgen soon, as soon as they work out the kinks. He said that we would have to lose our AC fan to mount the front mounting intercooler. He said that it would cost arond 3k for the kit and should cost about 5-600 for the install. He also said it would be running at about 5-7 lbs of boost and should give about 50-60hp gain. So with I/H/E and some other mods, your lookin at about 200hp and with nitrous even more. If you want more info on the turbo he gave me his card and the number is 717-502-8535 and the email is dms@dmspower.com.
Rob
PS Please don't flame me, i am just passing on information that recieved from one of the owners of this company.

Yea, I am pretty sure that this guy was at a car show that CivicPunker17 and I went to, 2 weeks ago. He said basically the same thing...that's why I am thinking it's the same guy. But, he said they are making good progress. So who knows. Maybe it's not too far off for us!
Heh...Good info, thanks. Isn't it funny/pathetic (you pick) how much people here worry about flaming--or not flaming?
And what does flaming REALLY do for you (if you're the flamer) or to you (if you're the flamee)?
After all, it's all just words on a monitor--isn't it?
LOL...I just find the whole thing funny...no offense meant to anyone, of course

just so you guys all know, you could make a custom turbo for a lot less than 3 grand (around 1500) and then have that installed professionally if you cant do it yourself, then youd have money left over to strengthen your internals for a larger boost
id hate to lose my ac though

I'll second JKeezo...the days of sacrificing comfort and refinement for power are over. I would much rather invest in a different car.
You could get a 1 or 2-year old Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T, invest in a complete turbo upgrade and end up with a comfortable, reliable and refined ride making upwards of 350hp.
Edit: This would run about $28-30, all mods complete, or about what you would typically sink into a Civic...food for thought

www.turbo-kits.com is currently making a direct bolt on turbo, go to the site and look at the specs they have on the 5th and 6th gens, i talked to them and they say this fall is release date.
I had my V-AFC installed at Dynamic. Let me tell you something about them. THEY SUCK. The 2k1 that might be up there is either my friend Kevin or Chris' (Since they both claim there cars are getting turbo from dynamic, they have been saying this for the past year
). Every turbo motor that has been built there has pretty much been blown. My friend has a prelude which they turboed and they "Supposedly keep your car longer to make sure everything is hooked up right"...his engine gave on him the next week, during normal driving. They installed a friend of mines coilovers on his 2k1 INCORRECTLY, They took forever to install my V-AFC, and even after installing it they set the wrong settings (4000rpm VTEC Changeover?? NO)....after all the stuff ive heard from my friends and from my own experiences, I will never take my car there again. Two big thumbs down for dynamic.
Was it Brian you talked to? Last time I talked to him about a 2k1 Civic, he didnt know ****, and the only thing he told me was "The only mods for your car are the AEM SRI and Greddy EVO".
Hiro i assume dosnt know anything either since hes the mitsu head.

if so that is my buddy chucks..the president of my old car club...they did his turbo and it blew up...but in the end he ended up spending more money with them and they fixed it so...he told me he didnt have a prob with em cuz they occassionally give him free stuff, but my club discount was a measly 5% and I never saw free stuff....so they wont get my business anymore.

That sounds good but for the price thats a bit steep for me. And besides if Neo says No, then I would tend to side with him.
But thanks for the info, atleast people out there now know there is a demand for this stuff.
Thanks Rob.
