gas cap help please!!

ok i searched for this and found a thread that a lot of people responded to, but it was all bogus info. i left my cap at a gas station, and no they don't have it. auto-zone, pep boys, o'reilly, and every salvage yard don't gave a replacement. i guess i'll have to fork up the fricken 30 bones for the "suction sealed official honda civic gas cap" but i just thought i would see if any of u guys had an idea........please respond

It's pretty much your only option. Next time just be more careful.

Yeah I was driving all night once and went to fill up and drove off without. Honda wantd to rob me of $25 so I said the hell with that. Went to Advance Auto and they let me try a cap that was listed for a 2000 Civic and it fit perfectly and has been doing fine. Was around $4.

If you get the one from honda you can also get the plastic thingy that comes on the 02s and 03s that'll keep it on there, so you won't have to pay another 30 bucks for another one.

Makes me wonder why more cars don't have the wire like some Saturns and other cars have to keep the gas cap right there. Even if you are to dumb to put it back on, at least it is dangling there for you to fix later.
