first, general is more popular, and, afterall, it is GENERAL discussion, i believe that includes the flow of information about our civics, as well as information itself.

as far as website stuff, i dont really think that chat falls under that category. other than to let the ppl who are important know that a change must be made.

anyways, here is the original message, hopefully more ppl will get to see it before its moved again =/ ill hope it stays here for awhile so ppl can really see whats going on and maybe even stop in the room.






there isnt really any mention of it on this site! we got that bar at the top where we can get to teh forum, tire calc, members rides, why not add a link for the chatroom? you could add a java dealy so you could join without having to d/l IRC, i think that would help greatly to increase chat room use.

I think that chatrooms should be used, it is a great way to supplement information read here, you can get question/answer based communication much faster and more clear, but its all dependant on the popularity of teh room. If noone goes in chat, then chat cant help anyone out!

I think that if we decide as a FORUM of members to get in the chat, I think that we could greatly improve the transfer of information and ideas. a forum of this size has the potential to have 15-30 regulars in chat, which is more than enough of a base to keep a room going.

one problem with chat is that noone is patient enough to stay. Ill often see ppl come in and out, and not even give me enuff time to say something before leaving.

hell, there USED to be a 2k1 chat going on! it kinda migrated from IRC to AIM, then fizzled and died. lets bring it back!

grey, i get an email every time you move one of my threads. but frankly, this has nothing to do with this website. i believe it does in fact belong in general. which is why i reposted it.

and you are a moderator. you can do whatever teh hell you want. move, delete, whatever. But i reposted it here because i want it to get publicity, the reason why noone is in chat, is cause noone knows about it, and those who do know about it know there are never anyone in there. I think we should change this. it CAN be changed! but there needs to be publicity. and its not gonna get that off in tech stuff, or website stuff, or detailing, or any of teh other less populated forums.

so do what you want, hell, you could even ban me for disrespect! but ive told you twice now why i reposted it, and why i want it here.

see, this is the problem. if we could get a mass group in there, then we could get something going, but as long as its only a trickle, then by teh time one more person comes in, the one that was in will leave.
