ABS Light Stays On
2000 Buick Century, 98k miles, automatic transmission. New BCA aftermarket front (both sides) wheel hubs installed three months ago and they include built-in passive speed sensor.
ABS Light has been on for the past three months with the exception of a few intermittent days when it was off during driving.
I have a blue-tooth scanner but it doesn't include ABS scanning. Auto part stores scanner don't include ABS either. Yesterday I checked all four wheels speed sensors and ABS wires with a multi-meter in the following manner:
* Disconnected sensor wire from wheel speed sensor, connected multi-meter to speed sensor terminals, set multi-meter to millivolts and spun the tire. On all four wheels the readings were between .5 and 6.5 millivolts.
* Checked continuity by setting multi-meter to 1M ohms. On all four wheels got a reading of .41 ohms (circuit closed)
* Checked power at end of sensor wire/connector. Turned key to position 2 and first set the multi-meter to 20 VDC and got a reading of 5.2 volts. I then set the multi-meter on 200 VAC and got a reading of 10.1 volts. Same readings on all four wheels.
* Visual check on all speed sensors and wires looked good. Cleaned all connections with DeOxit elctronics cleaner spray.
* Did an ECU reset by disconnecting battery cables, draining residual voltage, reconnecting battery cables. Took car for a drive and the ABS light is still on.
Brake fluid level is in between minimum and maximum. I cleaned the brake fluid level sensor with DeOxit. ABS Light still on.
No non-abs codes shown on blue-tooth scanner
I found this info on ABS Light on: https://www.youcanic.com/guide/buick-abs-warning-light
I am taking it to a mechanic tomorrow but he said his ABS scanner doesn't work on some cars.
Looking for input of what I should do next?

Re: ABS Light Stays On
Thank you for that link. Looks like a nice scanner and it will make a nice Christmas present for my favourite person to buy for...me (lol). Don't tell my wife that.
Looks like it should work on my 2000 Buick. Here in North Carolina we have both safety and emissions annual inspections so the smog feature will be helpful also.
My '95 Civic EX is still in Florida at my mom's house. I really miss driving and working on it.

Re: ABS Light Stays On
I purchased that scanner and it arrived yesterday. Today checked ABS system and it has code 1218 Pump motor circuit short oto voltage or motor ground open.
I cleared the code, waited a couple.minutes, started the engine and the same code return (ABS light on). I shut the engine off and researched online for test procedures and repair solutions.
Three hours later when I drive to work the light was off ABS light was off the entire time. I will check to see if it appears on my way home after work tonight.
One of the YouTube's I watched showed how to test the brake pump control module by checking continuity and voltage. He sprayed the harness connections and that alone fixed the issue.
I intend to cleaned that harness connection on mine and will report back. Cool scanner so far. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: ABS Light Stays On
real talk though, that's a cool *** scanner. Good price, too. The cheesy OBDII scanner I bought in like.. 2005 was $60 and can only read/erase OBD codes.

Re: ABS Light Stays On
Looking forward to using some of the other function for pre-inspection scanning.

Re: ABS Light Stays On
Motivated me to finally get around to the PRNDL lighting repair: https://www.instructables.com/Buick-...luster-Repair/
The new 1/4 watt 150 ohm resistors solved the issue.
