sugar in the gas tank
How exactily does sugar in the gas tank ruin your engine? Would something like sand/salt/honey do the same thing?
Either way, im glad that our gas tank cover has to be released from the inside.

Sugar gets very sticky when it comes into contact with moisture. Seems like it would leave sticky residue in the fuel lines, injectors, and the engine itself. I don't have the slightest clue though, just a thought. hmmm....I have always heard about the sugar in the tank thing. I wonder what actually does happen.

the sugar will mix with the gas and when the gas enters the engine it locks up the pistons.
the sugar will burn. major no no

That happened to my next door neighbor's Corrola.
New gas tank: $3,000
Edit: People can break through the gas door still. One day, you might not even notice it's been tampered with.
For some more security, just get a gas cap that locks and unlocks via-key. My mom has this on her car... it's pretty useful if you ask me. If you wanna protect your gas tank from an expensive act of stupidity, this is the way to go. I'm planning on getting one for my Civic some time.

<< Its pathetic how stupid this world has got that you have to buy a locking cap for your car you know? Just to keep a nice car these days

Agreed. But better safe than sorry from the threats from the idiotic world.

I just want to point out that when someone, like me, is reading an interesting thread it doesn't really matter how old it is or the time between posts. As long as it's information that is RELEVANT to the subject matter. It's nice to have all the info in one thread.
However, if someone asks an urgent question and then years later another person answers it, then yeah that's a bit ridiculous.
