Best method to learn about cars and modifying them?

I (F18) am most likely thinking about getting a civic hatchback (either 6 or 7th gen) for my first car and i really wanted to learn the in and out's about modifying so my big question is what is the best method to learn about cars and modifying them?

Exactly what you’re doing now. Forums are the best place to learn. Lots of detailed threads here for past projects.

I’d recommend a 6th gen if you’re choosing between the two. They’re cheaper to modify and there’s a bigger aftermarket.

Also, make sure you make your own thread documenting your project. We wanna see what you’re doing to it. Good luck!

I don't know that much about cars I'm going to get my license soon so I'm just looking at cars at the moment.

Forums and actually dicking around with my car is how I learned.
Came to this forum at 18 years old, knowing pretty much no more than oil changes, changing brake pads, and how to change a tire. I learned a lot from a lot of super experienced people I've been able to interact with.
