DAM POT HOLES!!!!!!
I was driving down the street tonight (around 8:20pm) and in the middle of the road a texas sized pothole jumped out at me!
Both rims on the Right side of the car are bent all to hell. i barely made it home. Just wanted to vent. Does anyone know if i can sue the city for building potholes in the middle of the dam road? I am so pissed off right now!! I hope insurance covers this, and the dam city better pay up! By the way, don't drive in North Carolina.
Thanks for the vent

Hey...
Last year my dad was driving his saab through the city where i live. He hit a major pothole and bent his BBS rims and also destroyed 2 expensive tires... He went and got it repaired then sent the bill to the city explaining what happened with a letter included with pictures. The city actually sent him back a letter of apology and a check to cover the damages. Insurance won't cover thewheels unless you have insurance on them... good luck

Sorry to hear that!!!! I would be soo pissed if that happened. I thought I might have bent a rim the other day and would have gone to the city for payment but the street was under construction and their was a huge hole with no signs. I just caught the edge of it but luckily all is good!!!
Take pictures and write the city or take it to the town adn tell them what happened, if that doesn't work seek legal help.
Good luck

You'll will have to check the laws or ordinaces(sp) in your area. Here in Charlotte, NC, if the city is made aware of a pothole and a person's car is damaged, they are liable. I know your pain. I dented 2 of my rims going through a pothole on my previous car. I run 15 inch rotas now just so I don't have to dodge potholes everywhere I go. They are quite bad here.

The pothole was in a construction area (i have no idea what they are doing) near an army base.
My rims are of the stock kind, you know with the el cheapo hubs (they broke). i am still pissed off.
thanks for all your help guys.

You might be able to get money out of it if you contact the town/village/county having authority over the road in which the pothole was. Had it been in New York, you would probably be out of luck unless the jurisdiction already knew about it and had done nothing to fix it.

Yep, Yep. I go out to that mall every few months or so. I think some of the other local members have meets up there every so often. Check out the "South" forum. I am out at UNCC 5 days a week now for summer classes so I am pretty darn close.

hey guys today i got all my sheit fixed, and took pics of all the damage and the sink hole. the pothole isn't in the construction site itself but the road is state owned. i put my shoe in the hole (size 12 work boot, steel toe and high ankle) the dam hole swallowed it whole. it was huge. once i get everything sent in to the state i am going to get these pics scanned and all you guys can see.
the shop that i took it to gave me the print out from the alignment machine, it was all messed up, i can't remember exact numbers right now but it was messed up big time. they said the left front was messed up too so they fixed it, but now my steering is off, so i have to take it back on tuesday. why can't people do good quality work anymore. if you want it done right you gota do it yourself. i wish i had time and equiptment.
