yeah...personally, i have a 5 speed...but it pretty stupid that somebody has to call another names and mouth them because they have an auto.

im right up there with you. stupid kids are like "yeah your car sucks cause ou have an auto" and i can only say "uhh, yeah and you got a really cool uh...ford explorer". its always the kids with a crappy car or no car at all. and it shows their arrogance towards cars in general and that their source of knowledge on automobiles comes strictly from fast and the furious...after that everyone was all about 5 speeds! just cause of the damn movie! i dont care if i have an auto, im 17 and just a junior in high school so whats it matter!?

whats the big deal?? you must be kidding me; the big deal is that the manual would win. both auto and manual, same make and model, there will be a clear winner. the kid who said they run the same times is wrong.

autos are cool if you bought the auto for cruisin or because you dont like to / dont know how to drive an MT, but if your trying to turn heads with your exhaust not many things sound -er then someone getting on their car and hearing the tell-tale sound of an auto shifting.....

People buy automatics for their own reasons. The bottom line is automatics do eat up power, I remember an article saying that the automatic was the 4 cylinder torque killer. Doesn't bother me a bit. I have one. Automatics eat up a percentage of power, and in our cars, since there is not a large amount of power, it would seem that the transmission would kill a considerable amount. Just remember, the faster your car, the better use of an automatic you will get. On my other car (450 hp) I would never think of running a manual. The great thing about an automatic is that it will shift faster than any human can.

Besides, who buys a Civic for racing? You get a Civic when you want a clean reliable car that looks nice. The automatic still gets you places, just with a little less hassle.
