replacing starter on 98 civic with swapped engine.

Hi guys, si i need to replace my starter on my 98 civic SI coupe (canada) but i have a swapped engine, its a D15b JDM, and i'm not sure if i can just get the regular starter for this car, or do i need a different one?

please let me know, thanks :-)

IMO
Remove starter from car. Carry it into the parts store, set it on the parts counter.
Obtain new starter for your car.

Make sure the starter they give you matches up.
If it isn't the same, ask for a starter that fits a car that engine came from.

Take both starters back home.
Install new starter.

Do not give them your old starter until you have the new one installed and working.



Or, take your starter to a local rebuilder instead.

thanks for the reply, i was looking into scrap yards to save some money, but a lot of scrap yards don't understand when i say i have a d15b jdm engine.. also i think the guy i got the car from told me that the original start is what is in the car now. is that possible?

That's ricer talk. Real mechanics don't talk that way.
