Is this normal with the rear lights?
My son just noticed his 2000 Honda Civic's rear lights not completely lit, as the top part of each tail light is not lit. Is that normal? Do those only light up when the brakes are applied? I don't recall myself how they look at night. Can someone let me know? Thanks in advance.

Only the bottom light up. The bottom also lights up brighter when you press the brake.
The top corner are for turn signals. The top middle are for your reverse lights.
