if i were you
i would trade in the auto for a manual
it would cost you alot less to trade it in and less hassle
if you really did want to turn your auto into manual get ready to pay some $$$$$$$$ because it cost alot more and it will be a hassle.

if trade in is not possible then i have to suggest on waiting for a reliable engine swap with an rsx type s, then you can get the 6 speed tranny.... since you need to swap tranny anyways.
oh yeah and i'm not saying a k20a swap has been done yet (its in progress from the looks of another post) so lets not make this a "swap flame" thread

i actually was leaning toward a swap anyway, maybe someone could inform me a little bit on a few things
1) where can you buy the engine from?
2) if i could buy it would i be able to get it financed or would i need all the $ up front
3) can't you sell your vic engine (i have ex low miles) to make up for a little
4) how much would labor be

1) check ebay or the RSX forums
2) Probably all up front, but maybe finance.
3) Sell it on ebay
4) get in contact with htown, he will tell u

I heard if you want to switch your automatic into a manual it will cost at least 5000 dollars. And some people just say, you might as well get a new car. I'm in the same situation as well, but just think that automatic is more reliable then manual.

I WAS in the same boat, but when i got my civic, i had to wait 3 months for them to ship a 2dr dx manual, (Jan 2001) and i didn't want to wake up at 4am to BUS to work for 3 months so i settled for the 4dr dx auto which was all they had.
But after i saved up a lil $$ now i got myself a ....5speed P5!!
