stupid emissions
here in texas, i'm pretty sure I saw on the news that they have now made emissions testing severely more strict. This isn't cool at all for us, however it will thin out some of the old ford and chevy's that billow smoke. Wretched hp racing header not being carb exempt.
i talked to a guy at a local shop and he said that DC IS planning to bring out a carb exempt header for the LX/DX, (as listed in parts) however he also said it will be @ss expensive. most likely double the price....I know that the testing will be costly for them, BUT i dont think the header is gonna cost 600-700 dollars....seems unreasonable. Nobody would buy it. Anyone else heard anything on new emission testing?

Do the new emissions guidelines apply to the entire state? The Houston (Harris County area) emissions rules just went into effect a few days ago. I figured someone could just go to a different city (say Austin) to pass emissions easily.

What are you guys worried about?
Unless you have removed your cat, not using an O2 sensor, or reprogrammed/replaced the ECU. got new cam, etc...what's the worry?
Our cars are already Ultra Low Emmissions Vehicles.
