New Guy Here
Hey how's it goin everyone? My name is Mike, and one of my friends referred me to the boards over here. I bought my Honda 2k1 Civic LX back in the summer of 2001 when i was 17 and still only had my permit I got my license in October and just turned 18, I have been driving the car ever since.
I was impressed by its handling and simplicity, but now i think im ready to actually start hooking it up. Sure I want the car to look cool, but I also want it to perform well. One thing that has me concerned is the fact its automatic...I know i can do normal things like new exaust pipe, intake, etc. but can i also enjoy some of the benefits of those of you who have manual? If i get an answer to this I think i will be ready to shell out some actual cash!!
I look forward to meeting alot of you and reading some of the posts on the boards.

Sure, auto's can be hooked up in terms of performance. It won't be as fast as a manual with the same mods, but it'll still be faster. Welcome to the site.
Welcome! I have a manual, the main advantage of that over a stick is that you can kick in on the power band with a manual, and keep yourself in that power band by shifting within that RPM range. With an intake for example, it kicks in at about 4000 for me...(I have AEM) but you wouldn't reach that band with auto...so I'd suggest getting Injen SRI since they kick in like at 1000 rpm. Anyway, I've built a collection of links that I thought were helpful to me. If you're interested PM me and I'll help you out.
