Need some revenge on a ricer
Need some revenge on a ricer
Hey guys I saw this guy today that pissed me off a while ago. I was in my mom's car and of course I lost because it was slow.
Anyway to get the point, he has a Nissan 240SX. Couldn't tell what model but they all have the same engine. I have an auto Ex sedan. Do I even stand a chance against this guy. I was going to race him when I saw him but then I changed my mind and decided to see if I had a chance. He did have 3 ppl in the car with him and I was alone.
But again, should I just dismiss this as a lost cause or should I try it next time I see the idiot?

ex auto?
I guess with 4 people in that other car, you might have a chance, thats if he's an auto too anyway.
oh yeah, and from a dead stop. from a roll he'll probably have the advantage with more torque.
I dont know how fast stock 240sx are though. nothing below 15s, thats for sure. high 15s with a good driver? *shrug*
dont waste your time racing, risk doesn't seem worth it for some weird "revenge" what did he do to you anyway?

Well it wasn't really that big of deal of what he did. His friend in the Cavalier passed me up and my mom's car is real slow. But he tailgated me and gave me this hard look.
I guess you're right, my car is not really a racing machine. Well thanks for the input, I believe he does have a manual so he'll get the jump.

I'd say fuggedaboutit. If he was gonna be an *** after he got stuck behind your moms car, you probably wouldn't want him behind you again if you happen to beat him in an acceleration test (not drag racing ). Don't waste your time with people who aren't cool with losing.

240SXs had both SOHC and DOHC engines. Also the SE models had a factory equiped LSD. ALl models are high to mid 15 second cars in stock form.
HOWEVER, it is a REAL "sports car". TIGHT chasis, great suspension, an aftermarket support only eclipsed by cars like the civic and mustang, and most importantly, its RWD. Id love to have one as a project car.

My friend's got a 240SX SE, not sure if it's SOHC or DOHC, but in stock form that car MOVES. He's since put in a CAI and a custom exhaust, as well as some suspension components, and WOW. Tons of torque throughout the band, and pulls like a champ all the way up to redline. Completely annihilated my Civic EX 5 speed in every way. With an EX auto, uhhh... no.

Joe you can pick up an s13? I dunno a 89-91 for a couple g's. I was thinking of tinkering with one but I can hardly pay my bills (sigh).
Those things are great pocket rockets and would give SI's a run for their money with minimal mods.
Oh as a side note:
these cars also get the famed sr20 motor swaps as well as a kd40e (I think was the engine code). Both of which are able to hold up to a stage 4 turbo. They can easily make 300-400 hp at the flywheel.

indeed. you can get an early 90s S13 for a few thousand, but your looking at more like 5K+ for anything with a semi decent motor in it. Although, with that engine you can run insane ammounts of boost or N20 without having to build up the internals. ahh the pleasures of having a truck engine!
