I thought this would be great just to see everyones answer.......so everyone could see what others opinions are......Would you consider a ricer, that kid with some loud no-name exhaust that sound like his car farted with mugen stickers on his car and doesn't even have one mugen part on his car, is it the kid driving around with his front bumper on, who didn't paint it....LOL......damn i hate that......PAINT YOUR BUMPER!!! Or is it the car that is all show no go....would you consider that a ricer, or how about my favorite the kid with the rims exhaust and a kit........AND NO LOWERING......thats the best....that just shows you have no idea what the hell you are doing.....all that money spent and couldn't spend 200 bucks on some springs......Or is it the kid who drives around with only an exhaust on his car.....blasts his music and tries to race everybody.....like he's driving a M3 or something.........I understand everyone isn't rich, cause i sure as hell ain't, but there is a way to do things right.......even if you are on a budget.........so...........WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER A RICER???!!!!

This has been covered a million times. Just do a search. Oh ya, there is no right and wrong way to "do up" a car. It's all based on opinions. I will agree with you though that there are some cars out there that are just hideous and the drivers should be shot.

Hmm... Kinda tough to describe, but I guess to me it's anything that's not done professionally and anything that doesn't serve a function.

So... That would be:
- L.E.D. windshield washer wipers
- cut springs for a drop
- interior neon's (why?)
- exterior neon's (when the color doesn't match to the car, kinda useless anyway though)
- badges that aren't for the car (RS badges on the RS grille are allright, but still)
- enormous aluminum wings (small ones may be allright)
- cheep Ebay strut bars (sorry guys, but they look really wimpy)
- chrome wheels (heavy and not somethin' you put on a 'vic)
- too many stickers (when not done tastefully, otherwise okay)
- too much I.C.E. (I think balance is the key to everything)
- too many guages (you can condense guages by buying multiple purpose guages)
- chrome trim (I guess this works on hot rods, but not imports)
- fake rotors (need I say more)
- fake wheels (AKA aftermarket wheel covers, need I say more)
- wide body bodykits (if it's functional, then I'll take it)
- taillight or headlight conversions (money better spent on something else IMO)
- non-functional hood pins (hurl)
- green or red or blue bulbs for anything (we're not emergency vehicles)
- too many foglights (yeah, why?)
- four racing seats (racing with four people in the car?) [IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG]
- aluminum or CF fuel door (what, like it's heavy?)
- useless OEM accessories (car bra, wheel well trim, exhaust tip)
- those window visors and moon roof visors (hate them)
- wiper blades that look like mini-wings (why?)
- aftermarket oil cap, coolant cap, dip stick (stoopid, we already have them)
- painting your car before the original paint is dead (why?)
- strobes (why?)

There's probably more, but I'm getting sick thinking about it. I'm probably guilty of some rice too. My aluminum door sills for example, no function at all. My aluminum dead pedal. No function at all. I guess anything that you have to explain as looking k3wl can be considered rice. Although certain mods actually do make the car look better, but it's all arbitrary. I guess I have to admit it then, my car is rice. Oh well, go figure... [IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG]

This whole subject is SUCH BULLSHIT!!!!! I'm sooo sick of hearing it and hope every single thread which contains the word "RICE" gets either locked or better yet eliminated. I am a fan of "clean" looking cars, and I am the kid w/ kit & chrome wheels but NO LOWERING, this is cause I drive 600-700 miles per week, so does that mean I'm a "ricer"-----NO, I care about my car & the kit. It's already had 2 spots chipping cause i live in NE and the roads suck...and if i do lower my car it's gonna be the right way, not just springs like you mentioned...

Can't we all just get along..lol....seriously though, it's not your car so shut the f.....k up

and i used the spring example because its the least you can do untill you get coilovers......you can't rim your car up without lowering it (especially when using bigger rims).......it just looks stupid!!!

The truth is, it's your car. Do what ever the f**k you want to it. I could care less. The term RICE is starting to lose all meaning. Nowadays, there's a thin line between RICE and extremely bad f**kin taste. Just remember kiddos, Mr. Wizard's equation for the day is:

while it is true that this topic has been discussed, and will be discussed on a honda board until armegeddon arrives, i always got the time to say something about it.

ill make it simple and applying to only low powered 4 bangers. if it isnt an engine mod, or a suspension mod (i.e. drop that isnt over done like a scraping car) its rice. that is my opinion and if you feel the need to call me an "idiot" or someone "who doesnt know about cars", go right ahead. youre only projecting anyway [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]
