*phew* i got lucky
Well basically what happened was that i was on my way home last night with my girl and im coming off the highway. Once i get off the exit there is a yield sign there, i see a couple of cars about 30 yards out so i dont bother to yield and i just keep on goin b/c i didnt want to wait for them. It so happens that the car that was coming up was cop. So he follows me running my plates and the whole nine. When he finnally pulls me over he asks me "You do know what im pulling you over for right?" i say "yes officer i know i didnt stop at the yield sign" and then he tells me "you forgot to mention that you were speeding and wreckless driving" so basically i said to myself that im f'd big time. so he asks hows my liscence if i have any points and i tell him that i dont so he runs it. He comes back and tells me that "i could have just given u six points, now get outta here and use your head next time".

QCKSILVR: My first (and only) ticket was a weird one. What would you do in this situation: I was approaching a rotary and there was a stop sign with two lines. I almost stopped at the first line. There was nobody around so I just crawled through the second line. I went around the rotary and I turned into the street that I wanted. Then a cop pulls me over and the only words he utters are, "Stop sign!". That's it. He just stared me down and before I knew it he wrote me a ticket and was off. Before that time I had no accidents, no tickets, and I had just finished drivers ed.

I would certainly not recommend pleading "guilty," by mail in your case. Someone who has always maintained a clean driving record certainly has some leverage with the courts. A stop sign with two stop lines as you described would be "not properly ordinanced." A stop sign may have one stop line, or none. That is a simple assumed fact that any driver knows. Crawling through the line, does however, constitute failing to obey the sign. I would find out who is assigned to prosecute the case and explain to the individual that you were confused by two separate stop lines for one stop sign. Ultimately, in your case, in the order of preference--try requesting a dismissal in the interests of justice, or an adjournment in contemplation of decision (more likely than the other) which basicially means if you do not receive any other summonses within an XX month period, the charge will be dropped. Should those not work, request having it pled down to an equipment vio with a fine. I highly doubt that the court will be unwilling to work with you considering you have no record. If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me. Hope this helps.

Every time I have been pulled over, I have gotten a ticket. They don't even give a chance to say anything. Well, one officer clocked me at 82 on the freeway and knocked it down to 79 or something, I can't remember now.
I kinda had the same situation a few years ago with the seeing a car off in the distance. It was very late at night and no car to be seen except for some headlights off in the far distance. I was sitting at a T intersection at the red light. Went ahead and turned on red and about a mile later found out who those lights belonged to.
Anyhow, no tickets for over 3 yrs now. That's a record for me. Just got my new policy and finally I am under a grand a year for full-coverage. Woooooh....it only took me since I was 16, LOL....
