What should I replace my 7th Gen with?
I had an 01 Civic LX. I don't now and I'm car-less. My car brought me $3,250. I have about double this to spend. What should I get?
I like little. Not smart car little, but the LX was a coupe. I like coupe.
I like 4 cylinder. 4 inline, SOHC, DOHC, Boxer, doesn't mater.
I like foreign. Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Suburu.
I like ease and cheap. Audi, BMW, VW are out.
I like lightweight/ hoppy. Impreza WRX STI, Mazda MX-8.
I like FWD but prefer AWD.
Given all of those I was looking at the following:
Mazda 3, Mazda 6, Mazda MX-8, Suburu WRX, Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Galant, Mitsubishi Lancer.
Are there others you think I should consider? What cars do you like (in general)? What from my list do you like?
I'm open to all sorts of conversation about this.

EP3 has a K20A3 engine rated at 160 bhp at 6500 rpm and 132 lbf·ft at 5000 rpm.
EM1 is also a great car (B16a2 engine) with 160bhp at 8,000 rpm and 111 lbf-ft at 7,000 rpm.
With almost $7k you can get either of these in excellent condition & they're both great reliable cars.
I recommend another Civic. You cant go wrong, good gas milage, cheap parts, easy to work on, fun to drive, and they look good.
Again, with $ almost $7,000 you will have no problem finding a beautiful Civic.
But when it comes down to it, its up to you!

Re: What should I replace my 7th Gen with?
Project cars I'd like to own:
- 2nd gen CRX
- ef9
- 2nd gen Eclipse
- 7th gen Celica
- RD, or GK, Tiburon
Buy and drive as-is:
- EM1
- EM2
- EP3
- Mazda 3 (sister owns one, and she's had no qualms with it)
- Lancer, but not any Lancer
- WRX
- Scion tC (not the biggest fan, but I'd own one)
I'm sure there are other cars I'd drive as-is, but these are the ones I've personally dealt with, have researched, or know people with the cars. I'd honestly stick with the Civic as it's my favorite platform to build on, and work with, when it comes to the newer vehicles. But, as stated before, it's all your choice.

bwaaahahahaha!
well, back on topic:
Outside honda world:
Mazda 3 - great handling outta the box
Mazda 6 - too heavy in my opinion, but have that read drive that activates on low traction or something like that.
Mitsu Galant - floating boat, in my opinion, can't take corners like my vic did when stock
Lancer - standard is just cheap plastic in the interior (back in 2007?) not sure of gen X
Roxie, sorry, but eclipse is straight-line only car in my opinion...

As a project car, the eclipse can be anything I make it lol. I'd personally change almost everything that isn't cosmetic. Mine would be a complete overhaul, as I'd only get it due to the body style. I almost had one instead of my em2. If I get a project car, there won't be much stock on it lol.

You can get an older STi or WRX within that price range sometimes, but it would need to be a mid 90's car. I'm not personally a big fan of Talons or Eclipses, they're AWD and turbo, but it's impossible to find a clean one.
I have a tough time thinking of a car under $7k that I would want to own over a 7th gen, to be honest.
