Warranty Issues for everyone to know (must read)

Ok, so I have neons in my car (underdash) wired to the cigarrette ligher (nice job, with a fuse and everything) and about a week ago my Stock CD Player fried so I took it to the dealer and about 20 minutes after I dropped it off they called my cell phone and said I had to pay for eveyrthing because of my neons. Now let's just say I am 19, look like a total weak *** but I can be a total jerk to people who **** me off.

Needless to say this service tech pissed the living crap out of me and after I gave him a how-to insult-dealers 101 lesson he said "there's
nothing I can do, I have to go by my techies, sorry" So I decided to go pickup my car, and yell a little more, but before I even got there I received another call from the manager. I yelled at the manager over the phone too and then we talked in person and concluded with this:

He agreed that the neons were probably not causing the problem but they thought that I had cut the Stereo's harness or something similar therefore he said, "Allow me to inspect the car for 1 hour ($75) and if I find something then you are liable for it, and if I don't find anything you won't be liable for it nor the $75".

Needless to say, they didn't find anything and I'm getting my stereo replaced.

Moral of the story: BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH and be an *** *** *** *** *** because they will try to rip you off and make any little excuse to blame things on your aftermarket parts. The stereo is in a totally different circuit he admitted.

Since I have been going through this for over a year now I will tell you this, if the service techs or the service writers tell you they can't do something or they won't immediatly ask to speak the the service manager. If they say they are not there or are busy find out when they will be back and call at that time. If they are busy, wait to speak to them. Yeah you are going to **** off a few people but in the long run you will have no problems with them doing what you say. That's just my 2 cents.

thank god i dont have a freaking dealership like you guys do, they sell aftermarket parts, if you take it in with your aftermarket parts, they are not going to kill you or anything. If something happens they just ignore the aftermarket parts and keep doing their work.... my dealership is the largest dealership in northern california.. No probs what so ever..
mad props to them as for the rest of you, im so freaking sorry you gotta deal with those peepz!

my dealer tried to tell me that when I had my tint installed "whoever did it removed the back panel and didn't put the clips back on when they reinstalled the panel"... before she got to the "so you're going to be responsible for the costs" line i cut in and said "actually I watched the entire tint job happen, it's on video if you'd like proof, the back panel was NOT removed. anyways ya they tried to blame the interior rattles on that i didn't let em

Yup, and I forgot to mention I even told the manager:

"If I would have taken off the neons off before I came in you guys would have never even thought that I had wired it to the cigarette ligher and would have just replaced my stereo w/out any problems"

His response
"No, we probably wouldn' t have known you had aftermarket parts, but truth of the matter is we do now"

I work at a Honda dealer as a tech and I don't like some of these comments
as far as the cigeratte lighter not being on the same circit as the radio the actually share the same fuse so if you overload the lighter circuit and blow the fuse the radio will not work
of course I hate to admit it some techs do try to take advantage of customers
we have one at our dealership

The comments are harsh, but rac even admits that his dealership has one.. almost every dealership has a crook or more... and that is why they get the reputation.. they are all crooks, they will blame anything on you they can eve though the lazy bastards know it is not coming out of their pocket. They get reimbursed for warranty work anyway.. what a crock of ****... oh we can't do this or that because the aftermarket part you put on changed things around to void your warranty. I personally wanted to revenge on the techs and service manager at PLANET Honda after I brought in my accord with like 20K miles on it and they told me I had to replace the brakes and resurface the rotors. A few weeks later I brought the car somewhere else to get some mods done and the guy who works there used to be a tech at a dealer before and he verified for me that the rotors were never resurfaced. What a bunch of CROOKSS... Since then I learned to change the brakes myself... you can buy the pads and rotors for what a dealer normally charges you just to replace the front and rear rotors...
