I'm looking into getting some kind of project/salvage car. I have a few in mind. One being an Audi TT Quatro, another is a bmw. from what i can see its all body stuff and possible radiator support ect. easy fixes for me and my shop. want to hear thoughts on this. either way car would either be for autocrossing or possibly DD if i can get it done nice.

I thought about doing the same thing with a DC5, I was offered an 05 base for $1800, no frame damage or issues with body panels that couldn't be removed and replaced. In theory, I could have fixed the car for less than $6k including professional paint work and had it on the road for $7800. At the time the car would have sold for around $13-15k undamaged..
so it seems like a good deal if you have the time.
