Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
Need a vote from you guys
Got an offer to trade my EM2 for a pretty much immaculate condition EM1 unmolested with only 67k miles
I really want to get rid of my car since I'm pretty sure AT's gonna die out on me anytime soon
My KBB value is 8500, his is around 7000
Only problems I have is:
1. His car is not alarmed (for EM1's are one of the top stolen cars, especially in california)
2. It feels like downgrading, 2003 car for a 2000
3. It takes 91
He is interested as well, but thing is, he doesnt have money to add on top for my car (I emailed him asking his car +1k so that i can put in an alarm and other necessities)
If we do trade, we are gonna trade rims too, since I like my EM1 rims.
Just need a little input from you guys
His car:

Pictures in case his post gets flagged/deleted/expired

Yes, I notice the few dents here and there, but for a 11 year car, that is pretty much flawless, and I can pop out those dents easily
Help me decide guys

Re: Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
do it with the 1k on top and take off the badge in the front, then it looks like your just driving an ek coupe with si tail lights to the untrained eye.
Re: Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
where i from its rare to see the vin number still on the fender on the car
thats a plus knowing those are factory parts,
i wouldn't call it a downgrade cuz your going into a higher performance factor
and the ability of having 4 wheel disc brakes instead of drums
change the shoe on those things is a work out, and thats one clean ride
1k on top for the security is a good investment. more performance parts/mods that the car can benefit from you'll enjoy it

The EM1 is a fantastic car, but I don't think I would trade your mint 2003 EM2 for it because although you get the slight hp bump the cars are fairly comparable otherwise.

When you actually get in the car and start driving it around, its going to feel a lot older in the cabin, where you spend most of your time with the car. I think a prelude SH is cool, and also the latest model supras, but I like electronics and the feeling of a new interior- not one that was designed in the mid 90's... aka 15+ years ago. Its a downgrade. Lots of other cars come with MT's, but if your looking to not shell out any more money for a new car, maybe going back a few model years is a good choice, plus the vtec is awesome when it kicks in on that B series motor.

^ Yeah Triz,
One of the main drawbacks of going back 3 years, is that, everything inside feels cheap, and the dash isnt even electronic...
But I think the upside of that, is that the EM1 is not as much of a chick car as EM2 lol

I gave you my answer like a week ago.
. We can be bros, brosef!

I'd at least give the car a test drive. You'll never know unless you get in the driver's seat and take it for a spin.

03-05 cluster swaps and S2K cluster swaps have been done into 6th gen and earlier Civics, so I wouldn't let that be a deal breaker. Still, I'd hold out for a GSR or ITR.

Not a fan of teg's, everyone has one
And Type R's are not available here
Unless I find a 2000 GSR in top condition, with JDM converted front, all stock
I wouldn't hold my breath for one
On the other hand, this EM1, If the guy is willing to add $500 on top, i'll do the deal
I really need at least $300 for alarm (2way)
and the other $200 for minor upgrades like intake

Re: Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
Verdict?
No
My parents don't like the idea of trading for an older car
Dad says "Wait till our situtation with our house mortgage gets better, and I'll buy you a new car."
2011 tC Anyone?

Re: Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
I guess Kenny makes a good point though. Well, some day, amigo. Some day you shall have the car you want. I really enjoy my car. My last car didn't give me the happiness of getting in it and driving it. If the tC will do that for you, save up for it and enjoy

Get the Scion if it makes you happy. It just makes me sad that the Scion makes you happy.
Side note: I thought the 7th gen Sedan didn't make me happy. Turns out the Silver DX 7th gen Sedan didn't make me happy. The Black EX 7th gen Sedan I can live with... for now.

Kenny,
Drive over to Texas and get 99Sioldguy to seel his Si to you.
Then no one will say anything at all. And no other stikers except for the civicforums will be allowed in that car

However, you might pay some to get this one...

Re: Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
I wish

Yeah yeah, its a chick car, whatever. but I love the styling and if you get complete factory TRD package, comes with lowering springs, and exhaust from the factory, which sounds badass btw
They even have 3 speakers on the door!

And I really do not like american cars at all
8th gens, Only the FA5 looks any good, but I don't like 4 doors. The Coupe's *** came from Ms. Kim Kardishian lmao

I really would still only get
1. Scion tC
and
2. Porsche Boxster S
And that's it. those will be my two cars, no lambo, no rolls royce.
I'm with this guy, and the guy after him.

Re: Yes/No EM1/EM2 Trade?
What is the FA5? Is that the Sedan? Nooooo... if it is - I think it looks funny for some reason - mainly the front end and the way the side mirrors come up out of the doors on little funny stands. I like the 8th gen Coupe's sexy fat ***
