Timing Belt Tension??
Timing Belt Tension??
Working on putting a new water pump in a 1997 Honda Civic LX. Got the water pump in - timing belt looks good..got everything lined up at TDC and that looks good too.
The problem I think is the timing belt tensioner. Im not sure how to tell if it's an auto-tensioner or manual. The manual says to loosen the tensioner then crank it back about 3 teeth to tighten the belt and then loosen the tensioner and then re-tighten it. But every time I do that and move it back to TDC the belt loosens up.
Does anyone here have any suggestions?
Can anyone here tell me where I can find out exactly how the tensioner works?
Thanks!!
