Front Wheel Drive Stabelize in snow?
I was driving in the snow, heading north bound, stop at the intersection and about to take a left turn heading west as the light turn green as i turn, the whole vehicle slide. Where the passenger side, right side of the front bumper hit the side walk and hear a boom, thought it was seriously dammage so drive down a bit and pull over to check. Was lucky the dammage could have been worse. The front bumper crack and came off a little, the clip of the bumper were gone. Others out there who experience of driving, where weather condition was difficult that had minor collision. What might have or help the front wheel drive more stabelize while driving in snow and rain or front wheel doesn't take the abusive in the snow that well?

actual snow tires help alot not all season but snow tires but more importantly driving slow is your best bet of keeping your car on the road in snow.

ditto that
I find my Civic is super stable in the snow. I commute an hour a day at highway speeds.
The only real tip I've seen for gaining traction in a FWD is take your foot off the gas and it will bring more of the weight of the car over the front wheels

snow driving 101:
1:drive slow
2:always have all weather tires, but as mwntioned above snow tires are far better
3:if you end up in a slide steer into the slide to regain tracktion then try to ease out
#3 is widely taught here in canada, probabley in the northern us as well. i've never used it and hopefully never will have to, because it goes against what your brain wants to do at the moment.

Winters tires, simple, thats the answer.
All Seasons are junk compared to Winters, and inappropriate for driving in the snow.

Re: Front Wheel Drive Stabelize in snow?
the reason why regular all season tires are worthless in snow because the stop working 44 degrees F...and snow tires start working around 44F.
if u wanna know why you should buy snow tires or the dynamics/properties and importance with them, read here:
