You all ready for this? Question...
You all ready for this? Question...
Alright all you Civic lovers, here is your chance to shine if you can. Here is the challenge that I give to you. Currently I own a 1997 4-door civic lx. Also, I am currently looking at a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. Since I know that all of you are pretty biased towards Civics, I'd figure that I'd throw this out...
Tell me why this Civic is better...
And don't give me any bs. I want straight up facts. Numbers, anything of the like. Also please no stories about your friend who is an eclipse owner, because I can give you a least one person that has had a problem with a civic for every person that does with an eclipse.
So there you go all you rice boys. Prove it...

ah, hell, I'll give you some facts...
If you're talking about the older Civics, then the breakdown is simple:
The eclipse has more torque for one, but they have just about equal horsepower. When you're talking reliability, Civic's are much more reliable as a daily driver, and they respond well to modifications. The Civics also have a longer longevity. The older-type Civics have plenty of modifications that you can get, and have the ability to swap engines/parts with their cousins, Acuras is plug and play for the most part. Civics also have a higher retention of market value, and just plain kick A$$.
So if you're looking for performance through and through, the Civic offers a lot more options. But the choice is up to you. Personally, I'd love to have a sleeper car Civic over an Eclipse any day. Quality always pays in the long run.
As for a comparison with a 7th generation Civic, well....it's a freaking brand new car. Modifications will become more availible as time goes by, and think about it: You'd actually choose a brand new car over one that has miles on it and is 7 years old? The choice is glaringly apparent.
Next time, if you use more tact, maybe you'll get a more informative response from other members! f00...

Don't ever buy a f'cking Chrysler (AMERICAN) engine over a Honda engine.
And if it's a 95, you'll see it in the shop.
Why else not get it?
Two people on these forums have had 2nd generation Eclipse GSXs... top of the line AWD with a stock turbo... engines failed on both cars.
I used to want an Eclipse, too. To get an Eclipse over a Civic is just stupid. It's a nice car to look at... and it can be fast... but IT HAS AN AMERICAN ENGINE. Don't fall for that bullsh't.

I just noticed you said don't put any of your friend's stories on here, and I don't feel like editing my post, SO... to clear it up, they aren't my friends. (But I still know who they are. I'm sure they'd be happy to share their experiences with you.) One of the Eclipse's was brand new, and the other was used.
Don't get an Eclipse. I'd go with the 1st gens... they're faster anyways.
Eclipse over a Civic? That's like choosing Monica Lewenski over Pamela Anderson.
That's like choosing Captain Planet over Spider-Man.
That's like cheating on your beautiful sexy girlfriend... for your whored-out cousin.

<< i don't think anyone gives a about what you buy. and the way you presented your question just reiterates that statement >>
