If a guy is in first year college and he is 18 years old... and the girl he is dating is in tenth grade and 16 years old; very mature, attractive and a sweetheart.... Is that a bad age difference...?

I started dating my girlfriend when I was 16 (Junior in HS) and she was a freshman (14yrs old). We've been dating almost 7 years now. I am now 23 and she is 21. A 2 year difference isn't that bad, it just depends and the situation.

My suggestion to you is not to worry about age so much if the relationship really works. I've been there with the age differences... dated a girl who had a 2 1/2 year age difference and her father went against it... so did her mother... but her mom learned to like me after meeting me. It can cause problems but 18 and 16 in my opinion isn't that bad. Some people will think age matters because on the outside, it can look like you're using the girl, or you "can't get a girl your age" which I hope, is not your situation. If you two can connect, then age is nothing but a # for idiots to keep on their minds. It's possible... people don't connect on a certain level due to age. Age has little to do with it. There is only a 2 year age difference. The problem is that you are in college and she's in high-school, a big difference. Age wise, it's only 2 years. Nothing to be concerned about. It probably just seems bigger because of the age you are at. Think about a 24 yr old and a 26 yr old.
