LS1 engine is in the trans am, camaro, and vette. Obviously the vette's engine is tuned for more hp/torque.
It's an LS1 camaro six speed in the video.

Not bad. Was that S2000 modded? It seemed like it held its own even though that Camaro probably had more hp. Lot of squealing at the start.

Both cars were stock. Believe it or not, but the squealing you hear is not just the camaro. it's also the S2000.
That S2000 got quite a spanking.
( I only saw 'race1')
I'm sure that's not an easy car to drag race. Due to the lack of torque and low RPM power, you are forced to drive it like you hate it. This is something many people who just plopped $30000+ down for their new car are not willing to do.
I know I wouldn't.
Flame suit, on.

most drivers aren't used to the characteristics of high-revving Honda engines, especially the s2k's. it doesn't have much torque at all, but once the cams switch over, hang on to your hat!

You might need a codec. www.divx.com??? I think? Otherwise update your windows media player at www.microsoft.com.
snowman, it's not going to put you back in your seat like an LS1 or trans am will. But it feels torquier (is that a word?) than a civic (no offense) or Z24 cavalier, or celica GTS, other such 4 cylinders. I mean I could still beat a Z24 cav or sunfire if I were to shift before VTEC at 6000 rpm. But when it does VTEC at 6000rpm.... it pulls HARD. I have given 2 owners of LS1 camaros rides, and they just about pi$$ their pants when the VTEC point comes and GOES! So the hardest part is the launch, since you want to get to the VTEC point ASAP.
I am going to record vids tomorrow of me (with a passenger filming) going from a roll and from a drop. You should be able to hear and see what it's like to rev to 9300rpm (i shift at rev limiter) and see what happens when the tach hits 6000 rpm.

Okay thanks those videos would be cool. The reason that I recently became interested in the S2000. But seriously I change the car that I'm obsessed with everyday. I could probably only afford a Del Sol VTEC now. But yeah, post those videos if you make them.
