1997 Civic vs 2001 Vett?
1997 Civic vs 2001 Vett?
So can a stock Civic with a pro-speed intake really beat a Corvette? The answer is yes. Of course we have to understand the circumstances behind the race. I was sitting at a stop light and I thought I heard something funny in the engine. So I reved my engine just to check. Little did I know that a Vett was right next to me. He took the reving of the engine as a sign that I wanted to race. So he starts reving his engine. I just decided what the hell, I'll let this guy beat the hell out of me.
So the light turns green. We both shoot off the line. How did I win you may ask? The Vett ran straight into a VW Bug. Yes folks, we have stupidity on hand. So a nice little 1997 Civic LX with 107 hp can beat a 2001 Vett with 350 hp.

ouch, that vette must have been pissed at you but really he has himself to blame
street racing:
just to let everybody know, our cars can beat a 99-00 civ ex. I beat one when I was completely stock (before my injen cai) and the other civ definitely had at least an exhaust since it was audible to say the least. I know that the drivers make a huge difference (i am better than before thanks to the drag strip) but he was losing by about ~2 car lengths. oh yeah, and our cars can also take vw gti's. as i understand it, that is the lowest one on the chain. I beat a vr6 when I was stock, but 3 things: I got a better take off at the light, the vr6 had 4 people in the car including the driver, and by the time we both were braking it was catching up
edit: now that I'm thinking about it, i'm starting to have second thoughts as to whether that civ was really an ex, dammit I'm not sure anymore. and yes, I do take it to the track, but this was late at night with no traffic in front of us and these cars were revving at me-->i'm not one to back down so flame if u want

Jon, any car can beat anything, andf im sure its not your superstar driving capabilities its the lack of a driver in the other car. can these stupid, non informational threads please stop!!!
im just pointing out a fact that the driver is a large factor of the race, i didnt say you were a bad driver, im just saying the people you were racing against were that bad. i miss the whole disrespect thing, maybe while your driving, you should just make sure to let your ego take the back seat.
I was going to write back and argue, but there's no point because I don't even know you. For the record, i said I'm better than before, not the best, believe me i know i still suck at drag racing but I'm improving.
