To clear or not clear headlights.
Who thinks it looks better with the yellow or without?
What car colors do you think look better with or without? Sedan or coupe?
I'm thinking about doing it to my black sedan.. its perfect weather outside today but im half way between liking the yellow and liking the cleared. The cleared gives it an original look (at least around here) but i kinda like the yellow...

black does look hella sweet! Do yourself a favor and search member rides and take a look at everything...originals w/ amber, cleared, projectors (black/crome)...it's your ride...you have to live with it! Good luck!

I think clearing your headlights is stoopid in because:
- it's risky and you could mess up if you don't take your time...
- it leaves little holes from the clips that the amber insert has...
- a lot of newbie's do it...
- you're trying to emulate a look that's associated with more expensive cars...
Now, I think the only colors clearing looks good on are the ones that are bright and clash with the amber. Red is probably the most clashing. The green is okay since it's darker. The blue is darker as well and it's complimentary, so it's not bad. Inca is weird since the amber kinda matches and kinda doesn't. Vintage plum pearl is okay since it's darker and the amber is complimentary. I think black, white, and silver look fine without clearing. They're like a canvas and the amber is a little dash of color that doesn't hurt. That and all of the stuff at the top.

Thanks for all the input... I was expecting flames because this is probably the 100th headlight post.
I'm going to do it today, butit will most likely be the first thing replaced with black projectors.
thanks again, better go get started. wish me luck

I personally think the orange insert is ugly no matter what color the car is because there's no orange anywhere else on the car! There are no orange rear turn signals! It looks better IMO no matter what color your car is. I don't think that it's trying to bite the style of a more expensive car. But if you're trying to make the car look good on the outside, it's gonna look expensive anyway, right? I don't think it'll make the Civic look like another car it's not... just what I think.
Grey: The 99-00 Civics came stock with cleared headlights. I think those overall just looked better than the ones of the 96-98s. But I'd have to agree that our headlights just look better overall.

I have a black sedan and I plan on doing mine when the semester ends and I finally have some time. I think the clear looks good with the black but I also like the orange. I see at least a couple black sedans everyday and I want mine to look a little different, especially in the front. I think the clear makes the car look a little sportier but the orange is a nice accent when just having the parking lights on.

the words have been stolen from my mouth....
my ssm 01ex doesn't have cleared lights, i like the amber
ah, what a debate.. I'm still arguing with myself on this issue, too. bluish bulbs actually complement the amber very well at night, but the cleared lenses DO look pretty clean. as for projectors, I really haven't seen any that I like, so I won't get those for quite a while.
Cleared headlights is like getting silver rims... silver rims will fit any car's color. (Except nothing old and ghetto.) All it is, is more silver/chrome in the front of the car.
