Gear Shift Stuck

I cannot press the button to allow my gear shift to release out of park. Recently, my brake light has been on & off when I drive, but I have had my brakes serviced. Could the brake sensor light be the problem?

Check to see if the brake lights in the rear are coming on when you step on the brake. See if the horn works (shared fuse)
