Digital displays??? Would you use them?
Just a hypothetical question....If you could replace your analog gauges in the dash with some cool indiglo-type digital read outs and it was affordable would you?

i'm not to fond of the S2000's digital gauge. to me, it looks a helluva lot cooler seeing a needle go up as you rev or go faster. seeing your speed in 2-digit number is kinda boring IMO. maybe it the digital display displayed "needles" then maybe i would go with them. i hope this makes sense
I dont think I would replace my analog gauges with digitial ones.
It also depends on how they look though so I'm not too sure about it.
I know it would be different so dats tights, but its about it u.
If you end up doin it, take some pictures and show us how they look

remember how like EVERY car back in the 80's had digital gauges? or those chrysler lebarons that talked? lol... i can't think of any cars off the top of my head (besides the s2000) that has digital gauges now... even cadillac, which has had them FOREVER, has switched back to analog.
i wouldn't mind having a digital speedometer -- it would be kinda helpful to see precisely how fast you're going at a glance. but the tach has to stay analog (or be a graph-type display). it changes too frequently, and the precision of a numeric readout would just be confusing.
i remember my friend's '88 cadillac seville -- it had a multi-function trip computer under the radio, and one of the functions was an RPM display. but, being the 1980s, it would only update the display every 1 second (and counted in multiples of 5) so you'd watch it idle at 955 RPM, mash the pedal, and watch it jump to 2320, 4865, 5905, etc... kinda funny because it was absolutely useless (like a tach has a function in a grand-daddy's caddy anyways
another note: when the year 2000 rolled around, that car's trip computer thing went nuts... it couldn't remember the date, time, etc... we'd start it up at 10AM and it would blink "GOOD NIGHT!" i think it was probably the only computer affected by the Y2K hoopla

If you talking about like if you had needs but it was like a tv screen digital thing where it looks like stock needs but on a digital screen then i might buy it but that would be mad hell expensive.
This would be tight....
the digital display would fit OEM style, give a digital speed in the middle but also have a needle anchored in the middle. The numbers that the needle hits 20, 30, 40 would also be digital but u would also have a larger reading in the middle. BTW the needle is not digital. hope that makes sense
