Rep Power: 0 Lowering on stock springs?
Just curious if I get rid of my shi&&y coilovers, can I cut my stock springs down so my car will be lower and I will have a better ride. What I am asking is if it's possible. Please someone let me know and why if not. Thanks.

Rep Power: 0 I'm not sure but I know when you do that on a truck it makes it a hella rough ride I would assume the same on a car. Totally different suspension but same concept. Why don't you just buy some aftermarket sprints they aren't that expensive.

Springs $125
Stock $free
It's not the price it is just I want somthing with a good ride. Springs are still kind of bumby. Coilovers just suck. So I thought stock might ride good maybe not. People tell me what you know please. Thanks.

Rep Power: 0 DON'T DO IT!!
If you cut your springs your car will be lower but your ride will suck, everybody will see you bouncing down the road and know instantly that you cut your springs.
Springs nowadays have progressive spring rates, with different parts of the springs having different strength. If you cut you could either cut a soft part resulting in your car bouncing around like crazy or cut a stiff part resulting in a soft, squishy ride (the first one is more likely). Either way your ride will suck.
Save up a couple hundred and get some Pro-Kits or something. It will be worth every penny as you improve the looks and handling of your car at the same time.

Rep Power: 0 I have Hand R sport springs on stock struts. It is a very smooth ride. Our other car is stitting on H and R port spings and KYB struts. That one is a little rougher but still not that bad. What kind of coilovers did you get for $75?

Rep Power: 0 DO NOT CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!!! THAT IS THE WORST THING YOU CAN DO....YOU WILL RUIN YOUR RIDE. NOT TO MENTION WHEN YOU BOUNCE AROUND UNCONTROLLABLY PEOPLE WILL LAUGH AT YOU. I WOULD. SAVE UP AT LEAST 120$ AND GO BUY SOME GOLDLINE SPRINGS OR SOMETHING, AND STOP BEING SUCH A TIGHTWAD

What ever you do don't cut your springs!! take this from experience, my friend had cut springs in his old civic and the damn thing hopped down the road like it had hydros. Go and buy some lowered springs if you just want springs. But dont cut them!!
