It's because the Lotus Elise is so damn light, half the weight of our Civics if you can believe! Not to mention that it handles on rails with a mid-rear config, it could probably take the Mustang on cornering by a longshot.

However, ask yourself this! If you could some how squeeze a 385 hp V8 into the Elise (impossible)... wow...

i saw the lotus at the car show, i love that car's look. only 120 or so hp(the weaker version). but that thing still had low 0-60 time. I was amazed.

most elise or for track only use but there are a couple that have been able to be streetable. but they arent as fast bc of all the emisions crap
