what does C.A.R.B exempt mean?

what does C.A.R.B exempt mean?

I see C.A.R.B exempt marked on a lot of parts but I never knew what it ment.

It means it is legal in California. Sence California has strict pollution laws they have a board or somthing liek that called CARB which certifies things that are smog friendly and legal in there state. I dont live in Cali so maybe someone that does can give you a better answer...but i think that is the jest of it.

California Air Resource Board me thinks. Just says that the part can pass smog tests, etc. Doesn't raise the factory immessions.

CARB-EO (exempt) means that the part can be on your vehicle w/o violating smog... meaning if you use a non CARB-EO intake you wont pass the visual inspection for california smog.
