ya... the prelude stopped in 2001 with that freakin SH type... It makes 5th (i think) generation manuals very rare and I just HAVE TO HAVE ONE.
I did my research... a H22 prelude engine with a jackson racing supercharger, CAI, headers, exhaust, pullies, cams, port, maybe some other stuff, racing transmission, and maybe alittle help from NOS (probably a 75+ shot) and we are talking about a 450HP+ machine.... God i want one...
My goal in life is to make a prelude that leave Vipers in the dust. ...might need a new engine in it... but preludes have big engine bays...

Yes, its a shame, but the lude is looking dated don't you all think? Its an awesome ride though, handles great and great power....just needed a newer body style and I think the sales would have been much stronger...

or a simple intake exhaust, jwt ecu and maybe a header will get a 300zx up to 400+
There is no way you're going to get 400 hp on a Prelude without some serious engine rebuilding. I know guys with the JRSC on their Lude and on stock internals they're getting at most 220-230 hp to the wheels.
ludes are like 195 hp stock...the JRSC adds up to 140+/- HP so thats like 335HP..and yes i know some one with it and he dynoed it, ill try to get the sheet and scan it to prove it...maphukers!
What is Honda going to use to replace the sporty Prelude? Surely not the S2000, it's an entirely different price range. Most every line has a sporty car. Acura has the RSX, Hyundai has a Tiburon, etc etc. At one point they had the CRX and the Prelude. Now they have like, none. I know the Ludes haven't sold much lately, and maybe they'll cut their losses and use the money they save to make a new sporty coupe.
id, why do you make such a big deal about the Z in all of your posts, its a Honda site
as for the Lude being in a diff class, 2001 SH's when new were going around 27-28k around here. Thats not too far off from the S2000 at 32k...as for replacements Ive heard everything from the RSX to the new Accord Coupe. Who knows.

5th gen Prelude SH's have 200 hp stock - at the crank. That translates to 150 hp at the wheels. the JRSC will add about 75 to 100 whp at the most. Good luck getting to 450 hp without getting a complete engine rebuild from Endyn.

my friend just got a 2000 black lude 5-speed. We raced like the week after he got it, and it was litterally neck and neck the entire way down the quarter. It all depends on the driver. plus that car weighs soooo much!! I think hes scared that im gonna have a faster car then him by the time hes done payin off the car. The sticker was 18, he payed 15 with 13 from the bank. So he is in the process of payin off the car (3 years), then the bank with interest (the rest of his life). I tried to tell him, if you want a fast car, get a worn down cvic hatch, and put a H22 engien into it, but noooo. Its all good, seeing how my car handles better then his, and will go faster with a little bit of time.

i am just excited, sorry!
I went to my Local honda dealership the other day and they told me how they are getting rid of the Prelude and the V6 Accord coupe becuz they figured that the new SIR was comming out for the civic....so they figured it would take away sales from the prelude........so honda is in the processs of creating a new car with A Prelude type body and a V6 Accord engine.....but i have no idea what they are gonna call it yet.....hope its a nice name though....
