Saw the Si Today

I went to a nearby Honda dealer and saw the only Si that they had. It is nice inside and it looks nicer than all the pics in the mags. The Shifter isn't as weird as I once thought. The only word I can use to describe it is....sexual

I haven't seen one in person yet. I just remembered that I am off tomorrow! I am going to see if any of the local dealers show one in stock.

Okay, this car is BS in my opinion.

At Honda of Oakland, they have a black Si in their showroom. Me and OverTheTop went to check it out. It was $19,000... price jacked up cuz of extra unwanted features, like mudflaps.

Under the hood... the engine bay is smaller than the Civic's. The seats were kew, the shifter was kew... otherwise, I'm not impressed. The rims on it were okay (which are 15s). I bet by the time I reach 28 (I'm 19 now), Honda will release an Si coupe in another generation. It's just unattractive... I would be happier with a Civic Type R, or an Integra Type R... or a 99-00 Civic Si COUPE. Right now, I just gotta see what people can do with this car. Will it truly live up to it's Si badge? Hey, Neo... I'm still waitin' for that test drive so you can compare your 00 Si to the newbie on the block.

It's proven that American's don't like hatchbacks as much as coupes/sedan so i don't understand Honda. IMO I think it was a bad move they should have just used the coupes body style and thrown the engine in there. Plus $19,000 forget that.

OoOoOh big words of hating on a car.
im sure ur tune will change the more u see it on the road. hahahaha
and after a 02 si hands ur coupe ****.
why buy an older ride when u can get a newer one? i dont see why people buy a brand new car and trade it for an older one. this really makes no sense!

Funny how people keep trashing the new SI, won't be so funny when it smokes you going uphill.
Performance over looks = #1.
Looks can always be changed and enhanced after.
Si coupe vs Si Hatch. Hatch wins hands down (power to weight ratio)

Haha....have to agree with this. However, the new Si is at the bottom of the Compact performance car food chain...older Si's, Spec V's, SVT Foci, and that Golf will pretty much tear it up. New Si owners dont have too much to brag about...just a really cool shift ****.

Please see my review. As for the Power to weight ratio for these Si's your wrong. The new Si is around 2800 lbs, while the coupe was around 2600lbs. That means the coupe wins.

Hey,

Preformance over looks to a point.

Cost benefit is another point. $19,000 at least for a Civic SI or $13,000 for a Civic LX.

Personally, I would wait to see how the SI sells, if it finds it market, hopefully they will import the Type R (200hp) to the states maybe next or 2 years from now. I am hoping. But like how it has been stated, the Type R out preforms the Type S RSX and will detract from the Acura line-up. But if Honda wants to maintain and grow and audience for the hatchback style, dammit bring the Type R over.

But again, that would be too right for America.

Test drove the Si today...It is really smooth shifting. And its quiet but a little louder then the coupe stock. Good trottle response and more power (obviously) I would get it if i didn't just get my coupe.
Its a really nice car. I want one now.
