this story is for those that get a good laugh out of sarcastic disappointment and not ment for those who hate nissans......
background: my friend found 2 240sx's on mautofied a while back and was talkin to the guy selling them for couple weeks before they struck a deal, and one hell of one at that, 2 240s for 700, who could pass that up!!!! so after 3 trips down, one to set the deal, one to settle and return with one car, the last with the second, we cheer for our current project finally reaching the state (240s are from outta state)
today: we decide after work to rip out the first block in the hatch (one hatch, one coupe) push it in and get to cuttin lines that couldnt be pulled off and about 5 headaches from electrical connectors we were still in high spirits cause it took us about 2 hrs to get to the motor mounts. thats when the fun began. first came the tranny, the gasket literally sealed the block to the tranny and we had to take a mini crow-bar to pry the 2 apart in the end using the weight of the block to pop the last bit of seal. next came the exhaust, simple yet laughable, the exhaust was full length but was not on any hangers, yet still managed to sit at the stock height, nice job nissan...now came the egr line, which wrapped AROUND the steering column, so a dremel solved that major pain in the ***
the disappointment: we call the kid that wants it out of joy, im staring at the empty engine bay when all the sudden my friend just starts going "oh.......oh....****....." then hangs up
poking it we also find.....
that pretty baby, now keep in mind this is supposed to have a spun rod bearing.....or at least thats what they figured, but if you look at that picture, the rod is completely off the crank, upon further inspection, on the other side we got.....
and by this time were taking a sledge to the thing out of anger. good news is he now has a better more powerful motor in there.......the one human power fat man motor
but after looking inside the car we realize that he still has a good car to claim since there is nothing good about that block
