What should I build?
I am deciding to build an all out race car but want opinions on what....ok the choices are crx or 2-5 hatch, n/a turbo or nitrous, Sohc or Dohc, if n/a k24/k20 or b series? Let me know what you guys all think, i am not looking to haul incredible *** just looking to have a track car thats fun and will run 12's or faster.

My vote is for second-gen CRX with a boosted K20A3 swap. It's not going to cost that much money if you find a nice shell (Which would make your life easier, that way all the stripping down of the interior/engine bay is done for you) and the K20A3 shouldn't be that expensive.
personally i wouldnt go FWD even though i am a honda fan. have you looked at miata's or 240sx's? hell, even some DSM's are good looking like the GSX and maybe, maybe the GS-T even though its FWD. and if your looking to run 12's, you can def do it with those cars. but if you must have a honda, id go ek hatch (newer chass.) and bolt on a k24a2 with a k20a2 head and go either NA. for boost, get a k20a3.

My $.02.... Why build an all out Drag car, when you can Buy a REAL race car for cheeper and you get to go wheel to wheel racing with it at tracks all across the nation?
Maybe your car could look like this:

I'm actually talking about Club Raceing, but Autocross is fun too.
Its pretty easy to find an IT car for under $5,000
This is what an IT car is...

Some of the fastest civics I've seen at the street races in Jersey were boosted CRX's on B series motors. Imagine with K... you'd be untouchable. Good luck w/e you decide to do you have plenty of resources to make a sick build.

^^^^ you got that right, I am considered a good driver here but never have raced a real race car so its hard to really say i am but hopefully i can find out. Those cars made for handling are fun and all but there isn't many places for that here.

Try the AZ region SCCA
or the AZ region NASA
You've got more Club Racing going on in Az then Nevada does.
don't mess around with your car like i did, i only had 20k miles on my car when i did the swap and i've had **** load of issues, its never like stock again. One thing or the other goes wrong. I didn't expect it to be perfect though, the issues that come along are part of the deal when you do the swap.
Like the other guy said... buy a cheaper car to f*** around with..

i've seen an eg B turbo vs. crx K turbo, crx had major traction issues... eg took it twice, there was no 3rd round.

My Daily Driven civic? Not a whole lot...Mostly suspension work. Probably about two grand total, given dampers, springs, anti-roll bars and wheels + tires.
But.... You can pick up a used race car for pretty cheep... Many come with extra wheels/tires and parts... some even come with a trailer.
Which is what I was getting at before. As you claimed that yo wanted to build a Full track car, and to me the equivelent to that in Road Racing would be Wheel to wheel racing.
Examples of WHeel to wheel Racing:

If you want to do Wheel to Wheel raceing it can be done fairly cheeply. A lot Cheeper then people expect. you just have to pick the right Class to run in.
IT Improved Touring, Is probably the cheepest, this includes Spec 7 (A class for 1st gen RX7's). Then there's Spec Miata, wich is VERY popular and pretty cheep to run. Then you have the Many Sports Racer Classes...
If you want to race even cheeper then that, you can do open track events with NASA, or many of the smaller groups that Rent race tracks, or you could run SCCA Autocross if you want some tougher compitition. (open track isnt technially racing, its time trials.)
Its all a matter of looking around in the right places.
