whats a good 1/4 time for auto?
I had my first night at the tracks the other night and had an effing blast even though i define slow. I have an auto coupe and i only pulled out the spare and small sub box. But i have a full fiberglass kit (about 100 lbs) on my car and was riding on my 17" konig tantrums (heavy as hell too). Well i wanted to get under 17 but didnt happen. Here's the slips...i got 2 runs.
run 1
r/t...1.1
60'...2.6
1/8...11.3
1/4...17.5 @ 80 mph
run 2
r/t... .7
60'...2.4
1/8...11.0
1/4...17.1 @80 mph
I'm not exactly proud of these times, i was mad about my first run but just happy at my improvement on the 2nd run. But are these pretty much the normal times for the auto coupe? Keep in mind all the weight on my car. And even though it was slow, it was the most fun I've had in a looong time

i was brake torquing it, had it at about 2 grand and let it keep on going up gradually until the amber was about to go to green. neutral dropping is stupid and id have ot traction so dont even know why youd assume that...
and im a 135 lb driver, glad im not 110 like the sedan kid! i hear these add some weight though

brake torquing is when u have an auto tranny and u hold the brake down and the gas down at the same time. u keep your rpms in the low range but let them gradually move up then let og of the brake, it gives u a much better launch. neutral dropping is a no no. its where u put it in neutral, rev your engine and while youre still revving u drop it from neutral into drive. it kills your transmission.
