Pontiac Solstice review
Well I went to the dealer today to try out a solstice. It was a little slick and humid out but here's my mini-review considering I couldn't push it very hard.
First off, I think it is a sexy car. It is small. I am 72 inches tall and thin, so I fit comfortably. Anyone larger may have a difficult time.
Just like a MR2 or Miata, you feel like you are sitting on the ground. Additionally, the front end is huge and the rear is tiny so backing up is weird.
Now to the sorta good stuff.
Power - 170hp. It is spread throughout the powerband so there isn't much torque or high end. It is kinda different then all other cars I have driven. It gives up at about 3500 but it has a redline near 7k. I want to go drive the turbo when it is released to see if that is better.
Handling - I really didn't push it but, it is smooth but stiff. It doesn't bounce much but when it does it is comfortable. I pushed a little and the rear end wants to slip a little, but still needs some help to get there. It digs a little, but nothing swapping some sway bars can't fix.
Inside - The inside is simple. Not may bells and whistles or chromed out ****. Just plain. It is better than normal pontiac plastic, but nothing outstanding.
That's about it. I want to try the turbo and whether the sky is any different.

yes you should try the GXP version and also the Sky. The Sky has different suspension from what I'm told; maybe you'll like it more, maybe not.
One thing they have to fix is a lack of trunks space. You can't even fit a set of golf bags.
