Where was your Civic made?
Dumb question, but hey, I'm curious -
Where was your 7th Gen made?
I think most are made in USA (mine is) , next is Canada, and hardly any are made in Japan anymore...
You can tell by the first three letters or numbers in your VIN:
1HG... = Honda of America
2HG... = Honda of Canda
JHM... = Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (Japan)
Thanks -

I thought a lot were made in Mexico... I think mine is. And it's gotta be brought all the way up to Canada. I can't wait for it. We're getting a special edition Civic up here called the Veloz.
I'm not sure but there might be a place in Ontario as well...

My Civic sedan was built in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. It's about 60km or 40 miles north of Toronto and started production in 1986. The Acura EL 1.7 is built on the same assembly line (for the Canadian market only). The Honda Odyssey and Acura MDX are built there as well, but in a different plant. I've heard that these 2 plants can produce 350 000 vehicles a year so they must be exported. I'm not sure though, if the coupes are made there at all.
My civic was built at the East Liberty/Marysville Ohio plants. My girlfriend's dad used to work on the Accord assembly line, but he has since quit his job at honda. We are going to tour the East Liberty and Marysville plants this summer, he lives about 10 minutes away from Marysville, and about 20 from East liberty.
I plan on taking a tour of the civic Coupe line and taking pics for everyone. Rumor has it that Honda does not allow cameras on the assembly lines. Blah, I'll find out soon.
By the way, did anyone else hear about the big fire in the Paint shop at the Marysville plant? Took 3 fire crews an hour to get it under control!

"Unlike the Civic coupe and sedan, which are manufactured in North America, the Civic Si comes exclusively from Honda's Swindon plant in England. The Civic Type-R, an even sportier version sold only in Japan and Europe, is also from this plant."

In heaven off course
Just kiddin' . In the US, so probably Ohio. Engine code is D17A8. That's the euro LX. Anyone know if the engines all come from the same factory ?
