Alot of people have been telling me that there is little to no speed difference between these cars, the only big difference would be the sunroof, i'm knida stuck on what to get, sorta leaning towards LX, since you can save some cash, theres like a $3000 CDN or $4650 US difference between the two models,
what to do, what to do?

rickinthescv will become famous soon enoughrickinthescv will become famous soon enough
ABS
Moonroof
VTEC
Color keyed Accents
Arm rest
Rear cup holders
CD player
Cargo net

Different exhaust systems (cat in different places), so all the turbo kits will be geared towards the EX (SI for you up there)

Plus MSRP for the Canda models is only 19,100 for the LX, and 20,900 for the SI.

If you want under the hood mods, go EX/Si<--Canadian EX, duh.

I'd go for the top of the line Civic just cause.

LX has less HP and does not have VTEC. If your just going for looks, then go with the LX. But if you want to do some modding to the engine, get the EX/Si.

get the Si dude. the moonroof alone is worth it (I'm serious). I couldn't imagine not having the moonroof.

get the si...you'll have more storage room if you have to move and you'll have 160hp plus ~140 lb ft tq...put some good wheels on it and it'll be a canyon carver (the civic si is built in the uk and uses the same suspension as the civic type r there!)

The EX isn't that much faster than the LX, even with the VTEC engine. That's because the EX is heavier with the sunroof, extra accessories and larger wheels. If you are tall or really concerned with handling, the LX is really the better choice. A sunroof adds weight, increases body roll(more weight at the top of the car) and decreases headroom. I'd go for the LX.

one thing honda is known for is their technology (i know recently others have copied the variable valve timing) but VTEC is truly awesome. and i can really notice a difference between the LX and EX. if i were you i would get the EX.

However, the LX has lower compression, so any sort of forced induction has a higher chance of success. One less thing to replace anyway when upgrading to a turbocharger or a supercharger.

mmmhonda is a funny boy!!!.....the lx has a 9.5:1 cr, the ex has a 9.9:1 cr, all that means is that the lx will be more turbo freindly, lower cr means you can turn up the boost higher on the lx.....there will be aftermarket turbo kits for the lx, but who really cares, you can always go custom.....there isn't a big speed diff, between the lx and ex, mainly because the lx weighs about 150lbs less than the ex....sohc vtec is a bit of a joke, and way over-hyped....vtec really shows it's potential with a dohc setup......you barely feel the engagment of the larger lobes on the sohc set-up.....the 2 grand you save can go towards a nice sweet set of rims, drop + a good quality header, exhaust, CAI, pulley's, this will give you at least 5-8 hp at the wheels....so, for the same money you can have a sweet looking ride, with a-lot of great mods, and simular hp numbers of an ex........

Word! 1973 is correct. That's why I went with an LX. The EX was overpriced and you really didn't get that much more.

don't be hating LX's LX's are tite... VTEC is way overrated... just because you got VTEC doesn't mean you can beat every non VTEC civic out there... hopefully the turbo kit comes out for our civic's soon, LX or EX... it doesn't matter... we all are civic lovers

I agree with 1973, go LX, vtec is totally overrated on our cars. Save the money, and get back any lost power with some cool mods using the money you save. You can put headers and basically all other mods on an LX. It's just a little different then modding an EX's exhaust system due to the LX's cat. Test drive both then decide.

NETCBC! To further confuse you, LX also gets better gas mileage!

personally, i wish i would have gone with the ex. for me it would have been a perfect fit. i really wanna get the si rims but since i have 14" rims, i'll have to buy new tires. Also, wish i had keyless entry, which correct me if i'm wrong, comes standard on an ex. i also wish i had the painted mirrors and the moonroof. and lets not forget about the slightly better engine. in the end, it was my parents decision, and they're cheap bastards. enough said

i love my ex. the moonroof, keyless entry and ABS are great, and its got lots of little goodies the LX doesnt have. well worth the extra $$$ IMO

i wasnt worried about the speed, i would have gotten the HX for the gas mileage if it had all the features of the EX
