i've had the bolts on my spoiler spit in half, my rear windshield or something back there rattles whenever my car is moving, something is wrong with my front right brake, and i/ve had problems with my cd player. i think there is something wrong with the way they built this car.

the only problem i have had is the plastic piece that covers the speakers in the back rattles a lot when i play music loud, or when i dont have music on and i rev the engine. but other than that i dont have any problems (knocks on wood) im sorry to hear about your problems. if i had those problems i would start a war with the dealer because to me, purchasing a car is a big investment and i take that stuff very seriously

Civicgirl... I too have that problem with the steering. I have a '02 EX with rims, and I just figured it was the low side wall, and larger contact patch of a 205/40ZR/17 tire.

no problems with mine..
i htink that whole thing with the steering is normal...because with a front wheel drive car like our civics the energy must be divided up between steering and accelerating..whereas with a rear wheel drive car the steering can be done with the front wheel and the accelerationg can be done with the rear wheels..i dunno though...

first of all, civics just develop rattles inside....every year, every model...as far as the other things, there are some cars that come out of the factory less than perfect, i think we would be expecting way too much from honda if we thought they were excluded from this group.....that's why you get a warranty......

It might be the fold down seats (like mine)...they squeak like hell when I go over bumps....I'm just gonna have it fixed at the dealer next oil change

1,040 miles and nothings gone wrong so far....lol

Any car manufacturer that makes a sheite load of cars is going to put out a few lemons.

I do have to say, the 7th generation civics do seem to be having a plethora of problems when compared to past generations and any other honda for that matter. Well, at leat in the last 20 years or so.

There are alot of problems with the new civic, I mean don't get me wrong I love my civic but I had some problems with mines too I had problems with one of my speakers making noise when the music was on, it was like it had it's own song playing out of it or something My piant was chipping on the front bumper, When I put up my passenger side window or put it down my whole cars jumps, it's crazy. But otherwise I love my Car

in regards to the floor matt issue.....when you said that they have a defect where the carpet gets pulled up in the middle when they are vaccummed, i think i have this problem where my feet rest....there seems to be no carpet left there after vaccuming them....humm
