i may be driving down to fl for spring break...i was wondering what the best and most reliable radar detector is for a decent price...i understand a few years back the "valentine hot" was the good stuff, but not sure about now...any recommendations?

also, i heard that radar detectors are useless now cuz cops got new technology...so is it gonna be a waste to buy one???

police radar guns do NOT take photos unless they're in a PHOTO van, at least where i come from. otherwise, it's just a guy and his gun [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG] as far as i know

They use instant on now. Which means that the radar is only on for a second to measure your speed and then its off. The good thing is you're not the first one he's gonna shoot with the radar so if you have a good detector, like the Valentine One, then you will detect it up to 3 miles away. And it tells you the dirrection the radar is comming from. They can only shoot you from the front and back, radars don't work from the side. is there one that can go against the radar detector's detector or like a cloaking type radar detector?
i know some police has it on their cars so they can detect whoever use radar detector
