he's got some very good points and some not so good points....... depending on "nerds" to save the planet is not going to cut it.

Thats a good article, hes got lots of good points. I think hes got a great point saying the problems will be solved. As one type of energy gets more expensive, others become more appealing and start getting used. There will always be some way to obtain engery, its just a matter of seting up of infrastructure to change. Basically once there is a large economic benifit to one way it will happen.

the petroleum supply should last us another 80 years, according to my professor, and well-known petroleum engineer. theres still so much oil left to be drilled. if alaska would let us drill then we wouldnt have a problem lol
