Next MDX gets ivtec V6 turbo

So I was watching a cnet video about the next MDX. The announcer talks about a V6 engine and the camera shows a shot of an Acura turbo charged ivtec engine. could this be a turbo v6 from honda? we already know about the turbo i4 in the RDX, but could this be a new trend for honda to make up hp for their small displacment. I could see this application of force induction appear on the RL in future as 300hp is nothing and honda doesnt have anymore higher hp engines.

possibly and maybe....it looks like they could have just shown the RDX engine. again, it is only a concept at this time so they could be doing both engines and just happened to show the turbo engine.

drive_fast_dail has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I think they just showed the wrong thing. Look at the pictures in Day_Trippers posting of the auto show http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=258988. What they showed sure looks like the RDX engine.

thats the thing, it could be the rdx engine, but since honda doesnt really have a large range of engines, a turbo option to get more power might be the only path honda could take before they develop new more powerful engines. so maybe a turbo v6 for mdx. but i see a turbo rl as a likely solution for all the criticizism of lack of power.

its not like honda never used turbos in their cars. cars such as the "today" had a turbo. turbos were not used in most of the honda cars in the last 15-20 years becuase of the vtec system. the vtec system didnt respond well to turbo applications. however with the ivtec, turbos should be better becuase the vtec system is continuous.

well the RL definately has the lackluster sales compared to the TL. i think they are getting most of acura lineup to have SH-AWD treatment.
