ok so i bought my car from the HONDA dealership but i didn't finance it thru them, i financed it thru my bank. so my question is where do i get the title? i paid off my car's bank loan like 6/03. i don't remember getting a car title though. the bank however sent me this "interest certificate" that looks like a lien release stating that the bank lien clerk is terminating their rights to the car, thus they have no right or anything to do whatsoever it. so my question is, do i get a title other than the lien release? because on the paper it says "NOT ACTUAL TITLE" or is the lien release all that i get since it was financed thru a bank?

You get either a actual title or a lien release like you did.

You have to go to the DMV no matter what so you can get a new title under your name.

At least thats how it is through California DMV.

ok here's another question. the lien was under my mom's name. when i go to the DMV to get the actual title using the lien release, i can put the title under my name since it's paid off right?

cool thanks. guess what, my mom just found out that my car is gonna get "paid off" this may 06 based on the contract so she said, now you can go ahead and pay for your insurance. she didn't know i paid it off 6/03 LOL. fvck that **** though...
