Paint warranty extension denied

So I took my Civic to a Honda dealership to have the paint chalking problem on my roof performed under the warranty extension and the Service manager told me that they can't because I have a odometer/branded title and that they can't do anything about it. Is that correct? And should I try another dealer? Any input would be much appreciated.

Correct. If your dealers VIN report shows this, you are on your own. (IDK if theft recovery would net the same result though)

Was your car sold to you with a salvage title? Or anything similar?

And should I try another dealer?
I might try the Honda customer service hotline, have them check your VIN and tell you if your dealer is correct.

I bought it used a couple years ago and found out the previous owner had tampered with the odometer reading. It was my first car and I was pretty upset. I didn't realize it would affect the warranty on the car too. I wouldn't want anybody to go through that.

I thought odometer tampering is a Federal offense in the USA. Sue the previous owner?

Sure does!
