Warrenty work on 2001 civic.

I picked up my car last week and then went ove rto honda and got them to print out the history of the work done on the car. Shows me both front struts were leaking and replaced, A/C stoped working and was fixed and the exhaust manifold was fixed.

I have heard the 2001's had some issues with them and I am guessing this is a few of them. Are the struts something that will come back? Or once they found the problem they fixed/replaced them and now they should be good to go?

Also they quoted me 90$ cnd to get a key cut? Shows on the bill 'program cut key' for 32.50....What have some other folks paid for keys? 90$ seems a tad high even with the programable keys...

The struts *may* leak again. They were improved on 02, but even then it was a common problem. In particular if you lower the car. The better route would be to put a set of tokico blues in there if the struts leak again. A/C can fail on ANY car, so this is not a problem with hondas. Exhaust manifold?? Not sure on that one.

The keys cost a lot. But you can buy one and have it cut. To program the key is nothing more than a sequence you put the car into so it recognizes and stores ALL your keys. It's in the service manual. But if you don't want the hassle, just pay the stealer and be done with it. You don't plan on loosing your keys on a regular basis, right?

So next question.... is it a stick or auto, and how many miles? Did it come with a warranty?

Its a stick. 107400km. Warrenty was done at 100k.

I only have 1 key so I was looking into a a spare. So you say all I have to do is buy the key and I can program it myself?

You CAN program it yourself, but it's a lot simpler to let the dealer do it.
