Wadup

both great looking and the same hp just about. Its a hard @$$ choice you should test drive both before making the decision. you obviously or, whoever, obviously would have the money for either one if they were in this situation so definately test drive them both. its w.e you like out of both cars. you cant say oh this is crap and that has been known to be crap. go off of what you like in each car and then buy the one you like the best. i wouldnt know which one to get if i were in the situation. the only thing i can tell you is to go with what you like and to test drive both of them also look everywhere online to see how many mods are out for each one. hope i helped good luck and let us know your decision.(post pics)

I hate the way the new STi looks but i'll take the old style anyday. The evo is cool and i've seen more 500hp evo's on streetfire than i have STi's but to be honest if i had an STi i probably wouldn't do too much to it since its fast already. The price difference is a big factor for me too. however one must consider the fact that the evo is making power more efficiently with a 2.0 vs 2.5 but the STi just sounds sooooo damned good.

from what i remember, the STI was a bit slower only beacuse it requires an extra shift. the time it takes to shift makes the STI just a bit slower than the EVO

well, a few things contribute to the Evo making more power.... 4G63 has an iron block. Displacement difference is there, but there are stroker kits for the Evo. Flat 4 engine design to tough to work on. Lets say you want to upgrade cam shafts.... 4G63 with a more conventional engine design is easier. Basically I think tuners and even mecahnics would rather work on a Mitsu than a Subaru. Also, what contributes to the lumpy exhaust note of the EJ20/EJ25 is the unequal length exhaust manifold which is actually not the most efficient for flow.

turning 18 and getting a turbo all wheel drive monster?! youre too lucky! If factory turbo is high priority, I suggest WRX, especially now that SUbaru is offering rebates on them.

well, if you own a Sti or Evo, it will be tougher/more costly to maintain. WRX I wouldnt say has more potential than an Sti b/c I'm thinking WRX tranny isnt too good.

that was with the older sti i think because the older one used a 2.0 L engine and the wrx used a 2.5L engine. The new sti uses the 2.5engine now so its not really save much on modding a wrx to be as fast as a sti unless you have shop and part hook ups.

I say evo because its a little more neutral around the corners and it looks better. The sti tends to overseer a little more.

But you do get more bang for your buck with the sti but it just looks ugly and the interior of the sti is better too.

For me, there is no point in having a 32k car thats fast as hell and i think looks like ****. For 32k you should get a car thats fast and you think looks good.

I am going to go with the STI, but yea it needs to be a 05'. Heres a little extra info though: The STI is pushing around 300 hp on 14 psi, then evo is pushing around 275 hp on 28 psi.
